Brea, California-- February 19, 2007 – Embedio, Inc., a leading developer of innovative technologies designed to optimize performance in converged media devices, today announced it has joined the ACCESS Connect Ecosystem (ACE) global partner program as a charter member. ACCESS’ recently launched ACE partner program is designed to create an ecosystem of world-class partners that will unleash the potential of the digital life generation by driving development and adoption of new mobile and converged technologies and solutions. The ACE partner program currently has over 45 charter members. "Embedio's innovative solution of allowing multiple kernels to run on a single processor enables operating system platforms for mobile phones and converged devices, such as ACCESS Linux Platform™, to reach new levels of performance for multimedia and other applications," said Albert B. Chu, vice president of Alliances for ACCESS. "We look forward to collaborating with Embedio as an ACCESS Connect Ecosystem partner to create cutting-edge solutions for the new digital life generation." “We feel very honored to be invited into the ACCESS Connect Ecosystem program. ACCESS is a leader in delivering high quality user experiences on converged devices, including mobile handsets. We share their vision for the future of these devices, and the Duet™ operating system enhancement is highly complementary to the ACCESS technology portfolio. We welcome the opportunity to work with ACCESS and other ACE partners in the creation of new and exciting products,” said Russell Murphy, chief executive officer of Embedio. Embedio demonstrated its core product, Duet, as part of the ACE partner display in the ACCESS Linux Platform display at the recently held 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Applications for Duet include low cost single processor mobile handsets, as well as 3G designs delivering rich media experiences. Duet enables the concurrent execution of a general-purpose operating system kernel and other, special purpose kernels, with full resource sharing of a device's hardware and software resources. For example, when Duet is used to enable a real time kernel to work with a general-purpose operating system, application developers have a new kind of application environment combining the features of the general-purpose operating system and the performance of real time. The benefit of this application environment is the ability to provide a high quality user experience with reduced time to market. Supporting many popular hardware platforms based on the ARM 9 architecture and the Hitachi SH-4, Duet can be used by leading OEMs and ODMs in the mobile phone and converged device markets to elevate the performance of their products that require support for media applications and a wide range of networking technologies. About Embedio Embedio develops innovative technologies to optimize performance in converged media devices. Since 2003, Embedio's core product, Duet™ has been making possible a “multi-kernel” operating systems with the features of a general purpose operating system and the performance of real time kernels. Duet™, enables hard and soft real time application performance within the Linux® operating system, and is used to optimize performance in converged media devices where design requirements call for a rich multimedia user experience. Founded by Rajiv S. Desai, a former NASA scientist with over 20 years experience in embedded software, Embedio is a global company with principal offices in the U.S. and India, and a sales and support office opening in China in 2007.
